Life
skill education: Realizing the significance of working
with young people, we have undertaken an interactive
process with students from schools and based on this
experience developed a life skill education manual in
Malayalam with 13 modules and 89 sessions. This is published
by a publishing house having a wide network of distributors
all over the state. Along with this 3 books on body
awareness for boys and girls and on child sexual abuse
is published too.
We
have undertaken training of trainers for staff from
NGO’s, ICDS supervisors, anganwadi workers etc, to use
the manual and undertake activities with students and
young people from the community
In this programme we have collaborated with the Child
Welfare Council, Kerala and several local self Governmens
Teen clubs- Two clubs are functioning in coastal and
in the urban slums. There is a demand to start more
such clubs from various SHG’s in the coastal and rural
areas.
Summer camps for children are conducted every year
